UNIVERSAL RLI is a comprehensive PC board assembly and manufacturing equipment. Developed by UNIVERSAL Instruments Corporation, this hardware and software combination provides advanced capabilities for both proto type and high-volume production. At its core lies the RET board, a single or double sided repeated action conveyor. This unit offers customers maximum flexibility in terms of the production of PC boards. By utilizing both a conveyor belt and a rotary indexer, the number of PC boards that can be processed at any given time is significantly increased. Additionally, various widths of conveyor track are available depending on the type of product being produced. The main driver of RLI system is the advanced Pick-and-place head for electronic components. This head is capable of accurately placing components at up to 50 parts per second, drastically reducing the amount of manual assembly work required to complete each job. The on-board vision unit further increases this efficiency by recognizing various part types and orientations. For mass production, UNIVERSAL RLI includes a fully automated stereo inspection machine. This tool can identify and reject defective parts quickly and efficiently and ensure the highest quality final product. For prototype or low-volume production jobs, in-line inspection is also available, providing lower machine cost and faster changeovers between jobs. To ensure compatibility with future developments, RLI utilizes the latest communications transceivers, including USB, RS-232 and Ethernet. This allows customers to easily connect the asset to existing computer systems or networks, greatly improving the integration process. With a strong emphasis on customer service, UNIVERSAL RLI model provides an easy to use setup process, quick-and-easy software upgrades, online technical support and training opportunities, making it one of the most customer-friendly PC board assembly and manufacturing systems available today.
