YAMAHA / I-PULSE F1 is a high-precision, high-speed, high-efficiency, PC board assembly and manufacturing equipment, developed by YAMAHA Motor. It combines advanced automation and a wide range of high performance features for greater efficiency and product quality. The system is designed to efficiently and accurately handle complex assembly processes, including standard surface-mount and select-mounted components, as well as through-hole and high-density ICs. It is built with a vision unit, which uses an innovative vision-capture technology to detect all component types in up to 6 axes simultaneously. It also employs a special vector highlighting technique that can be used to improve reliability by checking for certain misalignment irregularities. The machine is equipped with a highly reliable solder machine which uses laser-beam lead recognition to identify the appropriate soldering points of all components, as well as a built-in power control module, allowing for adjustments to thermal characteristics. It is also equipped with a highly accurate XYZ mounter, which rapidly and precisely locates and mounts components to the board. The tool uses an innovative production line asset, which can be configured for any number of production lines, or even customized for special features. Each line consists of four machines, an auto-scaler, a paster, a conveyor, and a router. All four are synchronized so that the auto-scaler can rapidly pick up and transport components from the feeder and move them to the paster for surface mounting. From there, the router moves the components to the conveyor and then to the soldering. YAMAHA F1 is designed to work with all types of standard PCB components, and is ideal for the production of high volume, high precision boards. It has a built-in programmable logic controller, ensuring quick, accurate control of all four machines.
