CASCADE MICROTECH / ALESSI REL 5500 is a fully integrated wafer prober and associated test system - an advanced solution that provides excellent speed, accuracy and reliability for automated device test and burn-in. It offers an optimal combination of position accuracy, cost-effectiveness and testing capabilities for a broad range of applications including MEMS sensors, LEDs, analog & mixed-signal ICs, MEMS devices and radio frequency components. The prober provides a large area (7.5 inches) and precisely controlled ambient temperature environment, allowing measurements to be made at temperatures up to 250°C. Standard probing is achieved through manual loading and unloading of the wafers, with reduced contact pressure. Capacitance, contact resistance and leakage measurements are also supported. The precision Z-controller enables the contact with the sample surface during probe contact, providing excellent repeatability while ensuring that high Ohmic and semiconductive materials are not damaged by contact. The system can handle three types of gripper plates: hybrid (for two layers of wafers up to 5"), orthogonal (for single layers of wafers up to 5") and pogo (for single layers of wafers up to 12"). The intuitive software features an automated setup for easy setup of device configuration, a graphical interface for control of the test parameters and a calibration wizard that simplifies complex tests. Additionally, a fully integrated sequencer speeds up the process of preparing and executing a series of measurements. ALESSI REL 5500 prober can easily fit in existing automated test systems with its compact design, while providing high-accuracy sample probing at a lower cost relative to higher performance probers. Its reliable and repeatable probing performance, automation capabilities, and expandable test capabilities make it suitable for a range of industrial, automotive, and aerospace test applications.
