WENTWORTH 900 Prober is a fully automated, high-precision wafer measuring and probing equipment designed to meet the needs of semiconductor manufacturers and production engineers. 900 Prober is designed for measuring complex wafer topologies and providing feedback on product designs. The system has the capability to analyze chip-level designs, with fine resolution and accuracy. WENTWORTH 900 Prober is a DSP (Digital Signal Processing) controlled unit, consisting of a moveable external manual head and a complete motorized internal hardware. The probe head is capable of shifting from its stationary position to any point on a plane, with quarter-micron step resolution in both the X and Y directions. With its multi-axis alignment machine, the tool can handle wafer topologies with full dimensional accuracy. The probe head is also equipped with ergonomically designed slide grasps to facilitate precise positioning when measuring chips. Being flexible, robust, and precise, the head of 900 Prober is capable of measuring die sizes of up to 30 cm. Its digital image processor also enables the asset to accurately pinpoint die boundaries before collecting die-level measurements. WENTWORTH 900 Prober has an advanced computer-driven motion model which can accurately control motion sequences in three axes: X, Y, and Z. By using servo motors, the scanning operation can be carried out with higher precision and speed. Through a user-friendly software-driven interface, the equipment can be used to quickly and easily probe for precise and accurate measurements. The software used to operate the system is also designed to be user friendly, being programmed to allow for a variety of wafer measuring functions. Users have the option to choose from a variety of features, such as microscopy, size, pass/fail chip analysis, wafer ID and position measurements, boundary recognition, chip scan rate control, data storage, reporting, and more. 900 Prober is designed to minimize manual operation during wafer probing, with its computer-driven motion systems and user-friendly software.
