EDWARDS E2M175 is a cryopump designed for high-vacuum applications, and is an excellent choice for industrial and research applications that require clean, reliable and precise vacuum conditions. This cryogenic pump is designed with an oil-free rotor design which allows it to be used in a variety of industrial and laboratory environments. E2M175 pump works on the principle of cryogenic pumping, which involves cooling a gas to a low enough temperature that the remaining molecules have sufficiently low kinetic energy to adsorb onto the surfaces of a cold trap. The cryopump features a large chilled aluminum plate, also known as the cryopanel, which is cooled by liquid nitrogen to cool the rotor to cryogenic temperatures, approximately -260°C. This allows the pump to draw molecules from the chamber to the panel as if drawn by a magnet. The design also incorporates a pressure-limiting valve built into the cryopanel, which helps to maintain system vacuum levels.
