EDWARDS IF30K is a cryogenic molecular drag vacuum pump from the scientific equipment manufacturing company, EDWARDS. The pump is designed for use with a wide variety of vacuum systems, from ultra-high vacuum applications to low pressure pathways. IF30K pump is capable of operation at pressures in the range of 10-4 to 10-7 Torr and it is designed for use with non-corrosive, reactive and non-flammable gases. EDWARDS IF30K utilizes a slow turning rotary drive motor with a powerful gearbox coupled that is coupled to a drive shaft. The shaft incrementally turns the pump's drive vanes to move a small amount of gas molecules through the inlet port and on a curved path down the inside of the pump. These molecules are then drawn into an incredibly deep pocket at the base of the pump where they become trapped. The molecules are then swept out of the pocket by an internal moving vane, producing a vacuum in the main chamber of the pump. IF30K is designed to achieve high vacuum levels quietly and efficiently. It is equipped with a non-return valve and thermal conductivity gauge ports to allow for easy monitoring of vacuum levels during operation. Additional features of the pump include a temperature control switch, a cooling system and emergency shut-off valves which help regulate the safety of any vacuum installations that it may be attached to.
