EDWARDS QDP80 is a high vacuum roughing pump designed for use with high-vacuum chambers. It features a slow-rotating, direct-drive motor that is connected to a single-stage, oil-lubricated mechanical booster pump. The design eliminates the need for the rotor and vanes commonly found in older-style vacuum pumps which allow higher flow and require less maintenance. EDWARDS QDP-80 uses an advanced oil-flushing equipment to separate the oil from the incoming gas flow and return it to the pump sump before being drawn into the compression chamber. This system helps to reduce the amount of oil mist produced by the process leaving less contamination for the process environment. The developed vacuum levels of up to 10-3 mbar is suitable for a range of processing requirements found in the semiconductor, pharmaceutical, food packaging and photonics industries. QDP 80's hermetically sealed design prevents any possibility of contaminate ingression and also features an ISO-5 compliant exhaust flange to ensure the exhaust of the pump is safely vented. Empty running noise level has been reduced to a minimum 65 dB(A) and an integrated thermal overload protection mechanism ensures the motor is protected from thermal damage in the event of any accidental stalls. The oil change interval is increased with an intelligent filtering unit which reduces the amount of oil vapour being carried on the exhaust of the pump. An easy-access oil inspection glass is also provided to allow operators to check the pump's level of lubrication and performance at any given time. EDWARDS QDP 80 pump is designed to provide reliable operation with minimum maintenance for a wide range of processing applications. With its direct-drive motor and oil-flush machine, the pump ensures superior operational performance and is well suited to vacuum processes requiring absolute pressures of 10-3 mbar.
