EDWARDS / VEECO QDP80 is a rotary pump designed primarily to evacuate a wide range of gases from ultrahigh-vacuum systems. It is a compact molecular drag pump that features an externally mounted stirling engine. It utilizes an internal cage to drive the helical rotor which produces a rotational drag force on the gas molecules. This force increases the pressure differential between the inlet and the outlet of the pump up to 160 mbar.
