PFEIFFER / BALZERS TMH 1601 is an Enviroseal dry-running rotary vane pump designed to move relatively small amounts of gas at moderate vacuum. It is an all-metal design featuring a single-ended, two-valve vane pump head containing an oil-free, single-stage eccentric rotating vane. The pump head connects to the drive section of the pump via an O-ring sealed flange, which has a balanced ported design to reduce gas leakage past the seals. The drive section houses a combination bearing/seal housing, a turbine-blade bladed impeller, a timing belt drive and two bearings. The internal design of the Enviroseal ensures a dry-running, low vacuum of 7 torr/min. It also includes a one-way motor, which allows for the minimum bearing wear when operating at low speeds. In addition, the balancing of the impeller reduces vibration and noise levels. Furthermore, the design of the oil-free seal ensures that the chamber remains hermetically sealed and free from gas leakage, preventing oil aerosol puffs and deposits from being discharged into the environment. The Enviroseal has a small footprint and low power consumption, making it suitable for use in a wide range of applications. It can be configured to handle a maximum inlet pressure of 1.8 torr and an inlet flow of 18 scfm. The pump works by drawing the gas stream into the inlet of the chamber and compressing it, reducing its volume and creating a vacuum pressure within the chamber. The high speed rotation of the impeller blades and vane causes the gas to flow through the system and into the exhaust port. Due to its versatile design and low power consumption, BALZERS TMH 1601 is a reliable and cost effective choice for a wide variety of gas handling applications. It offers excellent performance in industries such as industrial or food grade applications, photochemical processes, leak and vacuum testing, filtration, and semiconductor processing, among many others.
