INFICON QUADREX PGA 100 is a residual gas analyzer designed for accurately determining the composition of incident gas mixtures in vacuum systems. The analyzer is equipped with a powerful QUADREX PGA 100 pulse height analyzer, four columns, and a Pfeiffer vacuum (PV) turbopump to provide rapid, reliable, and accurate residual gas analysis. The analyzer can detect components up to and including noble gases, as well as non-condensable gases. INFICON QUADREX PGA 100 utilizes a pulsed xenon discharge lamp to produce photons across a broad spectral range (47-800 nm). The lamp output is focused and directed at the analyzer's inlet port and passes through an optical filter system and a quadrupole mass filter before entering the measurement cell. This quadrupole mass filter selectively passes only one mass at a time into the measurement cell where it is ionized via electron impact and accelerated through the pulse height analyzer. The analyzer measures the pulse heights of the ions to provide a relative abundance measurement of each analyte. The analyzer is designed to accommodate both standard mass spectrometry and quadrupole reflectron modes of operation. Mass spectrometry mode is used for the most critical measurements, where high sensitivity and a wide dynamic range are required. Quadrupole reflectron mode is the most commonly used mode and provides enhanced mass resolution, allowing samples to be analyzed up to 16 amu precision. The analyzer can be operated in both manual and/or automated modes. The manual mode allows the user to select the appropriate sample masses, while automated mode allows the user to store up to 10 sample sets. Automated mode is particularly useful for analyzing high sample throughputs and for obtaining high accuracy analyses with limited operator interaction. When operating in automated mode, the analyzer can detect and sort up to thirty-five components for each sample. QUADREX PGA 100 analyzer has also been designed to provide secure data acquisition. The analyzer includes a computer interface, encryption methods, and automatic shutoff features to ensure sample data records are secure and private. Overall, INFICON QUADREX PGA 100 is a versatile and reliable residual gas analyzer, capable of accurately and quickly determining the composition of a variety of gas mixtures. It can be used in both manual and automated modes, while providing enhanced mass resolution, secure data acquisition and a wide dynamic range.
