Residual gas analyzer.
The Stanford Research SystemSTANFORD RESEARCH SYSTEMS / SRS RGA200 Residual Gas Analyzer (RGA) is a specialty mass spectrometer designed for the analysis of residual gases in ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems. SRS RGA200 utilizes a double-focusing, quadrupole mass spectrometer to analyze the kinetic energies of gas molecules, which are then measured by an internal detector. This information is then used to determine the molecular weight, identity and partial pressures of various gases. To create an ultra-high vacuum, STANFORD RESEARCH SYSTEMS RGA200 utilizes an electron multipler detector with a hot filament source to ionize and detect the residual gases in the vacuum. The electron multiplier has three stages of amplification, each stage consisting of an array of independently adjustable electrodes. The electron multiplier then amplifies the signal from the highest energy ions and allows for improved sensitivity. RGA200 also utilizes an adjustable, low energy ion analyzer that scans the full mass range of the RGA. The low energy analyzer separates the electrons and heavy ions, allowing the user to distinguish between even the lightest of gases. This risk of collision is minimized as the ion collector is limited to 30°C of the RGA. STANFORD RESEARCH SYSTEMS / SRS RGA200 also features an integrated filament and detector board for improved stability and temperature control. This allows the filament to become more efficient at ionizing the residual gases, providing improved signal-to-noise ratio and resolution. Additionally, SRS RGA200 is equipped with an integrated high-voltage power supply and analog-to-digital signal converter that process the signal from the detector. The hardware is supported by a powerful, easy-to-use control software which allows users to easily set up and control STANFORD RESEARCH SYSTEMS RGA200's operation. The software allows users to store up to five templates which store setting that can be recalled quickly, reducing the need for tedious manual adjustments. The software also offers advanced imaging and analysis tools, including histogram and distribution analysis, peak mapper and real-time spectrum display. Overall, the Stanford Research SystemRGA200 Residual Gas Analyzer is a reliable, precise and easy-to-use instrument for the analysis of residual gases in ultra-high vacuum systems. Its advanced features and software capabilities allow it to provide detailed and accurate results better than any other residual gas analyzer.
