KOMATSU PV500D is a high performance crystal growing, sawing, and slicing equipment designed for research and development in advanced semiconductor and electronic materials. PV500D is comprised of a variety of components including a vacuum chamber with a Cold Crucible Feeder mechanism, a thyristor-controlled DC power supply, and a Load Lock Door. It is designed to support experiments conducted in atmospheric air, vacuum, or inert gas. The vacuum chamber is capable of achieving a pressure of 4E-5 mbar for crystal growing. The Cold Crucible Feeder is made of quartz and quartz coated stainless steel. It consists of a thermally insulated stainless steel body and a sapphire crucible. The crucible used for the growth of crystals can be heated up to 1300°C and cooled down to 700°C using the power supply. The Load Lock Door can accommodate up to three different substrates for the growing of crystals in a batch. The slicing hand wheel is used to move the wafer from the load lock to the saw.
