The instrument is equipped with a powerful visible and near infrared light source, a photo-diode array detector, optically variable polarizers, a tough, graphite-infused temperature controlled chamber, and a self-contained autoclave system. The spectrophotometer measures the flux or brightness, and total absorbance in both visible and IR regions simultaneously.
