It is designed for rapid analyses of small sample volumes in terms of speed and reliability. The spectrometer is composed of three main components: The UV-Visible light source, the UV-Visible spectrometer, and the spectrometer controller. The UV-Visible light source is a light source which provides the energy required for absorbing and measuring absorption spectra from the sample. It is a deuterium and tungsten lamp combination, which covers the full UV-Visible spectrum. The lamp power supply includes integrated temperature control and stabilizes the lamp power long and short term to ensure the highest levels of accuracy. The UV-Visible spectrometer allows for the measurement of the intensity of electromagnetic radiation with its monochromator. This device is a Prism or a grating which is used to disperse the light beam into its components by wavelength to measure wavelengths separately. The detector receives the separated light beams for measurement. The spectrometer controller is the brain of the system, which translates user commands into spectrometer settings and operates the spectrometer. The controller is able to store up to 350 user-defined spectral settings and has and advanced macro programming language and graphical programming capabilities.
