MDS SCIEX API 4000 Qtrap includes functions such as Selective Reaction Monitoring/Multiple Reaction Monitoring (SRM/MRM), Enhanced Product Ion (EPI) scanning and Multiplexing, where several experiments can be performed at once. APPLIED BIOSYSTEMS API 4000 Qtrap is designed to detect very low concentrations of targeted compounds, and it can be used to quantify the relative concentrations of analytes in a sample. The Quadrupole-Linear Ion Trap (QLIT) mode of API 4000 Qtrap uses quadrupoles and a linear ion trap to separate and store the ions. Quadrupole-based mass spectrometry uses static electric fields to separate ions based on the mass-to-charge ratio, enabling the measurement of accurate mass for unknown compounds.
