BRUKER-AXS Vertex 70 is a powerful analytical instrument used for spectroscopic measurements. It uses Bruker's proprietary technology, including an ultra high resolution CCD detector, to identify both the energy of photons and their angular distribution. This allows users to generate detailed spectroscopy data in the visible and near infrared regions of the spectrum. Vertex 70 is built around a precision optics chamber model that is designed for high accuracy measurements. The system is capable of working in a variety of different applications, including spectroscopic analysis of substances, the study of molecular reaction kinetics, and the testing of material properties. The instrument is equipped with an Xenon-arc lamp, and an emission monochromator with a spectral range from 190 - 2400 nanometers. BRUKER-AXS Vertex 70 is equipped with a variety of analysis modes, including the customary transmission, reflectance and fluorescence modes. In transmission modes, the instrument works with beams of light which are attenuated when traveling through various types of sample. This mode is particularly useful for studying the chemical composition of a substance and its optical properties. In reflectance mode, the instrument uses beams of light that are reflected off of various surfaces, allowing the analysis of surface properties. Fluorescence mode uses emission monochromators to analyze light which is radiated after a stimulus, such as excitation by ultraviolet light. The instrument is capable of performing various types of elemental studies and can also be used to conduct high resolution imaging of the surface of various materials with great detail. It is equipped with a 1024x1024 pixel CCD detector with a detector size of 9 mm, allowing for a high resolution data acquisition and display. Vertex 70 software package comes with several easy to use tools for controlling and managing data, and it is also capable of scanning both in linear and raster modes. The most recent version of BRUKER-AXS Vertex 70 has been updated with increased resolution and a larger spectral range. With its increased resolution and the ability to measure both the energies and the angles of incident and reflected photons, Vertex 70 acts as an extremely precise analytical instrument that can be used for multiple scientific and industrial applications.
