JASCO FP-8500 is a spectrometer designed and marketed by JASCO. It is a high-performance, single-beam spectrometer constructed to achieve broad versatility, high speed, reproducible accuracy, and reliable operation. This spectrophotometer is suitable for a wide range of applications, including optical measurement of wavelength, absorbance, transmittance, reflectance, fluorescence and fluorescence lifetime. The instrument has a 20 cm rectangular optical path and incorporates a D2 lamp for wavelength calibration, a high-resolution CCD array detector and a 12-bit A/D conversion circuit. FP-8500 has a wide range commensurate with free-space types, light sources and detectors. The instrument includes a UV-VIS light source, detector and optical system that allow spectral measurements with a spectral bandwidth of 1.4 nm. The analysis scan speed is selectable between coarse, medium and fine resolution. A data transfer and analysis rate of 1.5 seconds/scan for the coarse and 2.5 seconds/scan for medium and fine resolution is supported. The instrument has automated features including auto-focus, auto start/stop, auto range selection and auto time setting. The nominal wavelength range is 190nm to 1100nm. Its wavelength accuracy and repeatability are 0.3nm and 0.1nm respectively. The spectrometer also features an improved cosine correction and a reference spectrum correction function making it more suitable for use in optical measurements.
