LECO GDS-500A is a high performance spectrometer designed for the analysis of organic compounds as well as inorganic materials. The core component of the system is its optical bench, which consists of an excitation source, a diffraction grating, and a charge coupled device (CCD) detector. The excitation source is typically a graphite furnace, with an adjustable configuration for modulating the power, and is capable of producing up to 1.54 eV of energy resolution. The graphite furnace is equipped with four temperature settings, allowing for both heating and cooling of samples. The optical bench also includes a high precision diffraction grating with 1800 lines/mm grooves that is designed to help disperse and separate out the spectrum of each sample. This is coupled with a 1024 x 512 pixel CCD detector array, allowing for the capture of spectral data which can then be further analyzed. With respect to data acquisition, GDS-500A is equipped with an intuitive user interface for set up, operation, and data management. This includes both a graphical user interface (GUI) and a standardized command language (CLI). The GUI allows for easy manipulation of graph features, sample setup, test setup parameters, spectral data organization, plotting suite, and more. The CLI offers more options for programming and scripting for personalized protocols. From a performance standpoint, LECO GDS-500A is capable of reliably measuring a wide range of organic and inorganic compounds with an enhanced signal to noise ratio. The spectrometer can measure compounds across a wide spectral range, from UV-vis to IR ranges, with an accuracy of better than 1%. In addition, the system is also designed to minimize cross-contamination between measurements - allowing one to reliably make consistent, precise measurements. Overall, GDS-500A is designed to provide high performance data acquisition reliably and easily for research and industrial applications. The graphite furnace and diffraction grating provide a highly sensitive system for measurement of organic and inorganic compounds, while the intuitive user interface and powerful CLI offers easy control and customization of testing parameters. The spectrometer's exceptional performance helps ensure feasible compound identification and reliable, accurate results.
