WATERS / MICROMASS Q-TOF Ultima API is an ultra-high resolution quadrupole time-of-flight spectrometer for mass spectrometry (MS). This technology is used for a variety of applications including protein characterization and quantitation, metabolomics, and the analysis of complex mixtures. The equipment is equipped with a Quadrupole Mass Filter (QMF) that includes four rods, which are charged with different potentials to allow for mass and charge selection of ions. The QMF provides excellent mass accuracy and resolution, making it ideal for high-resolution MS experiments. The Q-TOF Ultima also contains an Ion Funnel Interface that allows for improved ion transmission to the detector. WATERS Q-TOF Ultima API is equipped with a number of advanced detection modes, including: Target-Mass Analysis, High-Resolution MS Tandem Mass Spectrometry (MS/MS), and Activation-MSn. These modes allow the system to be used in a variety of ways, such as targeted identification and quantification of compounds, and the elucidation of unknown compounds. The mass spectrometric unit is also equipped with a range of ionization sources for sample analysis. The machine can be coupled with electrospray ionization (ESI) or MALDI sources allowing for the identification and functional characterization of a wide range of analytes. Additionally, the tool is capable of performing a wide range of high sensitivity and high resolution experiments. Finally, MICROMASS Q-TOF Ultima API is equipped with powerful software. The software allows for the rapid data processing and interpretation of MS data. Additionally, the software provides a range of tools to enable users to easily optimize their experiments, including: method development tools, library searching, chromatogram deconvolution, and data integration. These features make the Q-TOF Ultima asset invaluable for researchers working in protein analysis, metabolomics, and complex mix analysis settings.
