WATERS / MICROMASS XEVO TQ-MS is a powerful triple quadrupole mass spectrometer that uses Electrospray Ionisation (ESI) and Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Ionisation (APCI) source technologies. The equipment is designed to provide the highest sensitivity for high throughput. It utilises two tandem quadrupole stages connected in series and works with a typical mass range of m/z 30-1500. WATERS XEVO TQ-MS enables highly efficient tandem mass spectrometry, having high resolution and excellent mass accuracy. This system enables scanning in MS/MS mode and offers extended dynamic range for quantitation in specific MRM modes. Its simultaneous scan capability yields additional data and enhances the specificity of detection. The source and analyzer unit is comprised of an Ion Source Shroud (ISS) which houses highly focused electronics and components for creating the ionisation environment. TheISS is interfaced to an inlet region and in combination with a deflector lens, efficiently separates the precursor ions from low m/z backgrounds for MS2 experiments. It also has a large (23 mm) multi-stage ion optics unit that provides adjustable physical constraints to shape the ion beams. The unit is designed with advanced features like high-efficiency collisionally activated dissociation (CAD) which enables more efficient dissociation of peptide ions, while its quadrupole-time-of-flight (QTOF) capabilities offer high mass accuracy with simultaneous ultra-high resolution and high mass resolution. Additionally, the advanced SelexION™ technology provides the highest levels of sensitivity for analytes with very low levels of abundance. MICROMASS XEVO TQ-MS also offers robustness and reliability and is supported by renowned XEVO Support services.
