WATERS / MICROMASS XEVO TQ-S is a high-performance triple quadrupole (TQ) mass spectrometer that sets the benchmark for small molecule analysis. With a very high scan speed, WATERS XEVO TQ-S can process up to 30,000 ions per second. The combination of high scan speed and high resolution allows the spectrometer to obtain the information necessary for direct quantification. MICROMASS XEVO TQ-S is equipped with an electrospray ionization (ESI) source for the introduction of samples. It has an integrated dual Navigational Tandem Mass spectrometer (NaTREX) source that improves the resolution of peaks and increases the signal to noise ratio. The source also allows for high-massFragmentation and provides the capability to identify compounds that have the same nominal mass. The acquisition of tandem MS/MS data on XEVO TQ-S is facilitated by an Aquire SPC software package that controls the instrument parameters. This software has the ability to set up different scan types such as Targeted, Multiple Reaction Monitoring (MRM), or Pseudo-Random Acquisition. The software can be programmed to generate multiple generating functions in a single run and can store instrument specific parameters that ease the optimization of data acquisition. XEVOTQ-S incorporates a photodiode array (PDA) detector that captures full spectra of the compounds during their passage through the mass spectrometer. This allows for a contextual understanding of the data and the identification of compounds that cannot be identified using targeted methods. WATERS XEVOTQ-S provides an ultra-fast scan rate and high sensitivity that allow it to quickly analyze and process small molecules with great accuracy. Its ability to discriminate between compounds with the same nominal mass makes it an essential tool for advanced analytical applications.
