AGILENT / HP / HEWLETT-PACKARD / KEYSIGHT 5975B is an advanced spectrophotometer designed for laboratory use. This instrument measures light energy over the visible, UV, and near-infrared regions of the spectrum. It is a stand-alone system that can be used to detect and quantify compounds, and can be used for quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as applications such as trace elements analysis and color measurements. HP 5975B is an essentially maintenance free instrument, taking little time to set up and requiring no service visits. This spectrophotometer has a simple and logical user interface, and an ergonomic design that takes up minimal laboratory space. It features large memory storage capacity (up to 30,000 scans), automatic wavelength calibration, automatic control of Lamp and Detector Electronic Assemblies (LEDA), and an efficient ion gauge to maintain a clean vacuum environment. AGILENT 5975B is highly stable and features drift compensation that keeps the instrument readings stable over time. It also comes with several kinds of internal references - such as a photodiode, tungsten filament, and quartz tungsten halogen lamp - allowing accurate readings no matter the energy source. The system's operational wavelength range is from 190nm to 3150mm, and the spectrometer includes several light sources such as continuous source lamps and lasers. It has a wide dynamic range, with an RMS noise of less than 0.1 percent for the optical-channel. The spectrophotometer integrates a high-accuracy detector which ensures high resolution, and can measure over a four orders of magnitude dynamic range with an accuracy of ±0.06%. 5975B also features integration of a variable-gain amplifier circuit with linear or logarithmic amplification modes, allowing it to deliver highly precise results when measuring small changes in light intensity. It has a wide variety of filter accessories that can be used to measure different wavelengths of light. The spectrophotometer is ideal for a variety of applications such as measuring absorbance or reflectance of low-light compounds, complex interactions or surface effects, protein structures, and other molecules. It can be used to detect contaminants in foods and beverages, and pharmaceuticals.
