SEC BEP-3968 is a photoresist system specifically designed to provide high-resolution imaging on printed circuit boards (PCBs). It is composed of a photoresist layer, a photolithographic mask, and a UV light source. The photoresist layer is a photosensitive emulsion that is indispensable in the production of PCBs. It is a very thin layer of polymer material that is applied over the board, and is sensitive to UV light, heat, and cold. It serves two key functions. First, once exposed to UV light, the photoresist layer undergoes a molecular transformation which hardens it, and makes it transparent to UV light. Second, the hardened photoresist is highly resistant to other chemicals such as acids, alkalis, organic and inorganic solvents, and ionizing radiation. By hardening the photoresist layer, it is possible to use chemical etching and other processes to selectively remove unwanted parts of the circuit. The photolithographic mask is a photoplotter-generated binary file which serves as a negative of the desired PCB design. It acts as a template which specifies where the photoresist layer should be exposed, and when exposed to UV light, blocks it from the areas that should remain unaltered. The UV light source is responsible for the photochemical reactions in the photoresist layer. It is a strong, monochromatic source of UV light (350nm to 450nm), which is necessary to induce the photo-polymerization reaction which hardens the photoresist. The UV light source used in a BEP-3968 photoresist system can also be adjusted to vary the intensity of the light, increasing or decreasing the speed of the photochemical process. Combined, these three components enable a PCB manufacturer to produce printed circuit boards of high precision, with the smallest of features. SEC BEP-3968 photoresist system can deliver the highest level of accuracy and resolution available in the market today, enabling the production of complex circuits and board layouts.
