SEMIX / TOK SG-2 is a photoresist equipment developed by Tokyo Ohka Kogyo Co., Ltd. (TOK). It is a highly efficient and precise system designed specifically for image formation, used in the manufacture of semiconductors, PCBs and MEMS components. TOK SG-2 consists of two primary components: a photoresist and a substrate. The photoresist is a light-sensitive liquid material applied to a semiconductor or PCB substrate. It contains a photosensitive chemical bath that reacts to visible or ultraviolet light and forms an image as it's exposed to light. The chemical composition of the photoresist material is such that its exposure to light either decreases or increases its electrical resistance, thus creating a pattern on the substrate. The photoresist is then exposed to an activating source of light, such as laser radiation, UV light or X-rays, and projected onto the semiconductor or printed circuit board substrate. By selectively exposing different parts of the photoresist material to the activating light source, it creates patterns on the substrate. This is then followed by a chemical post-processing step to further refine the pattern. SEMIX SG-2 is designed to produce precise, high quality images with a minimum number of etching steps. The unit is capable of producing small, intricate patterns at high resolution with a minimum number of overlapping steps. It is also highly efficient, as the photoresist machine only takes a few minutes to set up and can produce numerous images in a short amount of time. SG-2 tool is highly precise and efficient in the production of images and patterns for a variety of applications. It is particularly useful in the production of semiconductors, printed circuit boards and MEMS components. The photoresist asset offers high resolution prints at a fraction of the cost of traditional etching processes. Furthermore, the speed and accuracy of the process make it ideal for prototyping, production or small-scale applications.
