SPECIALTY COATING SYSTEMS / SCS BH-360 is a VOC compliant, low-temperature, chemically amplified photoresist equipment designed for use in fabricating high-precision microelectronic components, as well as other complex and delicate structures. This photoresist system makes use of ethyl acrylate-based chemistry, which allows it to be cured at low temperatures to adhere to substrates. This feature is particularly desirable for certain applications, such as those dealing with sensitive materials that cannot withstand high temperatures. The ScotchCalTM SCS BH-360 consists of multiple layers of coating material which are carefully applied at controlled temperatures and thicknesses. It is a multi-layer, unit composed of high-resolution organic and inorganic components and includes a topcoat, an adhesive, a base coat, and an optional substrate interface tape. The components of the machine are designed to produce high-resolution images, responsible for maintaining excellent geometry and image sharpness. The topcoat is a Photosensitive Organic Photopolymer which is an ethyl acrylate based polymer. Its thickness is usually about 3 microns. The topcoat has special properties such as high optical resolution, good adhesion to subtrates, good coverage, high definition imaging and durability. When exposed to light, it undergoes a chemical alteration and forms a pattern corresponding to the image projected on it. The adhesive layer is a UV-curable Acrylated Urethane adhesive. It is applied in a thickness of 0.5-3 microns. The adhesive acts as a strong bond between the topcoat and the substrate, ensuring that the coating remains in place and resists abrasion. The basecoat is composed of several layers. Its thickness can range from 16-32 microns. The basecoat is a combination of organic and inorganic resins, designed to provide high performance, chemical and physical properties. It is a vehicle for direct imaging, air release, and thinner coating overcoat that firmly fixes the pattern transferred by the photoplayer. The substrate interface tape is an acrylic -based tape, designed to improve the surface quality of the substrate before the application of SPECIALTY COATING SYSTEMS BH-360. It reduces the risk of contamination and improves adhesion to the substrate. It also provides additional air release that can lead to improved imaging resolution. The combination of the multiple layers, provides a comprehensive, photoresist tool that can be used to produce precise and accurate microelectronics components and other complex structures. The low-temperature curing method allows for the protection of delicate materials and substrates, while maintaining excellent resolution and fine image quality.
