SVG 86-3 is a positive photoresist equipment that is used for creating high-quality, high-resolution patterns on printed circuit boards. It is a single component system, consisting of a liquid photoresist and a catalyzing agent, which are stored in separate containers. The photoresist is a diazonaphthoquinone (DNQ)-type novolak, while the catalyzing agent is an amine-based catalyst. When exposed to UV or other forms of radiation, 86-3 liquid photoresist undergoes a radical coupling reaction with the catalyst, eventually forming a three-dimensional polymer structure. The polymer is insoluble in many common solvents and is very resistant to chemical and etch processes. This produces a pattern with very fine resolution, making SVG 86-3 unit ideal for use in microfabrication and fine-pitch, high-quality manufacturing processes. 86-3 photoresist machine can be applied directly to a variety of substrates such as copper, aluminum, glass, ceramics and silicon. Once exposed, the photoresist can be developed and etched with a variety of etchants such as ferric chloride or potassium permanganate. After this etching process, the desired pattern remains on the substrate and the uncured photoresist can be washed away in water or a suitable solvent. SVG 86-3 photoresist tool is commonly used in the manufacturing of semiconductor devices, printed circuit boards and probes, as well as in laser design, medical device applications and medical diagnostics. The high-resolution image formation and the chemical resistance of the resulting polymer make 86-3 asset one of the best and most versatile positive photoresists available.
