SVG 88-3 is a high performance ultraviolet light photoresist system from Sungear. It is designed specifically for long-term ultraviolet (UV) exposure and achieving high performance on printed materials. The system consists of a flexible, thin-film photoresists—such as 88-3—which is applied to the substrate material. This film has excellent resistivity and heat resistance, allowing a greater range of lithographic processing parameters, such as laser exposure and photoprinting, to be employed. When a UV light source—such as a laser beam—is directed through SVG 88-3 photoresist, the exposed areas react to the photocatalytic process, resulting in a negative charge buildup in the exposed area. The photocatalytic process, initiated by the laser source, triggers various steps in the photolithography process. This release of electrons relocates the negatively charged ions from their sites, initiating the transfer of energy to the substrate surface. As electrons migrate from the exposed areas, a thin layer of material is built up, and it is this process which forms patterns on the substrate surface. In addition to UV lithography, 88-3 photoresist can also be used for printed circuit board design, where the exposed areas are filled with copper for wiring. When applying copper to the substrate, SVG 88-3 is then removed, leaving behind the wiring pattern. UV exposure levels and processing parameters can be manipulated depending on the job requiring 88-3, enabling a wide range of lithographic processes to be achieved. Furthermore, the film is very thin and thin-film processes can achieve higher resolutions than previous lithographic processes and the use of UV light makes it it suitable for applications requiring extreme precision. Compared to other photoresists, SVG 88-3 exhibits superior protection from factors such as moisture, and contamination. It also provides a wider range of usage options for different surface and material types, such as plastic and metal, as opposed to other photoresist systems. In conclusion, 88-3 is a highly versatile, high performance photoresist system, which provides excellent precision and protection, and which has a wide range of usage applications.
