SVG / ASML 90S is a type of photoresist equipment which is used to create various electronics components, including displays, semiconductor circuits, and trays and holders for chips. This system uses various processes, including exposure to highly-focused ultraviolet light, to create patterns and structures on silicon and other semiconductor-based substrates. The unit typically uses a photo lithography unit which contains a light source, up to four cameras, and a media supply mechanism, as well as a platform which supports the substrates. The substrate is placed onto the platform at a precisely specified distance from the light source. A mask is then placed over the area of the substrate to be exposed, and the machine is operated to move the mask and light source over the substrate, while controlling the intensity and exposure time of the light. The UV light is then focused through the mask and onto the substrate, and a photoresist film applied to the substrate reacts to the light. On exposure, the photo resist turns from soluble to insoluble, allowing for the parts of the substrate to be left unprotected, etched or protected, depending on the desired structure. This process is repeated several times, with different masks, to create the desired features on the substrate. Once the substrate has been exposed and etched according to the design, a solvent is used to remove the photo resist coating that wasn't exposed, and the substrate is ready for the next step in the production process. SVG 90S is a highly accurate tool, allowing for features on the substrate to be created with precision down to micrometer levels. Its use in the production of various electronics components has allowed for an increased level of complexity in the production process, and increased the precision of the results.
