TEL / TOKYO ELECTRON Lithius Pro-I is a high-performance photoresist equipment designed for through-hole processing of complex printed circuit boards. The system uses a combination of high-resolution optics and astigmatism control to ensure accurate layer deposition and the highest level of device patterning. The Pro-I unit is capable of producing anything from two-layer through multi-layer boards with any number of vias and other components. The machine consists of a litho and plating head with an integrated UV illumination source, as well as a precision conveyor belt and robotic handling mode. The head can be moved from side to side or up and down over the board in order to accurately position the exposed area and achieve greater precision. The tool also features automated data acquisition, manual/automatic operation, and scan imaging for quick and accurate pattern evaluation. The photoresist asset is built with an all-in-one lithography/circuit-plating process to achieve precision and speed. A light-sensitive polyimide resist is mixed with a photosensitive developer, and the combination is exposed to UV light produced by the integrated illuminator. As the board passes beneath the head, the photomask pattern is transferred onto the exposed area of the board. The exposed area is then plated with nickel, copper, silver, or gold in order to form the traces in the desired pattern. The model is designed to not only provide superior throughput performance but also flexibility to accommodate a wide range of sizes and shapes of printed circuit boards. Additionally, TEL Lithius Pro-I also has an advanced safety feature that ensures that only those components that are plated conform to specified dimensional requirements. To ensure that the photoresist equipment runs with maximum efficiency, TOKYO ELECTRON LITHIUS PRO I features an integrated auto-diagnostic system that evaluates the functioning of each component and can diagnose and alert the operator of any potential problems. The unit is highly scalable and provides an excellent cost/performance ratio. Overall, LITHIUS PRO I is an excellent photoresist machine for creating highly accurate patterns on multi-layer boards with minimal wastage. Its high-resolution optics, astigmatism control, and automated processes provide the user with accurate and repeatable results. The tool's advanced safety features help ensure the alignment of components and lower the risk of fault detection.
