LEYBOLD HERAEUS WS 1001 / E250 is a two-stage molecular drag disc pump designed to deliver precise vacuum pressures in a wide range of applications. It is composed of two non-contacting screw-type rotors that create a molecular drag on the gas molecules passing through the pump cavity. This molecular drag reduces the pressure in the system, creating a vacuum. It is able to reach an ultimate pressure of 0.1 mbar, is composed of oil-free components and has a 3- or 4-phases motor power supply. The pump is also characterised by its low noise emission of less than 65 dB(A), making it ideal for use in laboratories, medical and pharmaceutical applications. WS 1001 / E250 has a pumping speed of 250 m³/h, and its electronic speed controller (VCM) serves to provide precise adjustment and efficient process control. The pump has four operating modes, including ultimate pressure, normal, fast and steam vacuum. The ultimate pressure mode is used to optimise ultimate vacuum performance, while the normal and fast modes allow for efficient and fast evacuation of large volumes over a wide range of backing pressures. The steam vacuum mode is used when pumping large amounts of water vapour or condensate. The pump is designed with a two-stage oil-sealed construction which provides both long-term reliability and excellent pressure performance. It is also equipped with an integrated liquid-cycle thermocooler which actively cools the bearings and motor. Additionally, it has in-built oil management, vibration insulation and monitor functions to ensure system operation is optimised. The design of LEYBOLD HERAEUS WS 1001 / E250 allows for ease of maintenance with its simple filter element change and large oil drains. Furthermore, the rugged stainless steel casing provides durability for a range of operating environments.
