APPLIED MATERIALS ENDURA utilizes advanced Arc Gun Technology to produce high quality thin films. The arc gun consists of an anode that contains a highly conductive material, such as tungsten, molybdenum, or iridium. The anode is then placed inside a vacuum chamber and a DC power source is used to form an arc between the anode and cathode, or the substrate. The arc then produces a neutral plasma, as well as a thin film on the substrate. ENDURA unit offers a highly adjustable platform that can be tailored for a wide range of applications. The process control capabilities include temperature, pressure, and power regulation, enabling fine-tuning of the thin film deposition. This enables users to make precise adjustments to the reactive gases, dopants, and other process conditions. AMAT / APPLIED MATERIALS ENDURA machine carrier board also provides the ability to modify film thickness, uniformity, and step coverage during the deposition process. The carrier board utilizes multiple sources of gas to deliver enhanced films, each source independently controlled via its own gas mass flow valve. This allows for the modulation of reactant gases during deposition, enabling thin films with superior film thickness control.
