AST / ADVANCED Equipment TECHNOLOGY CEDE-200 is a nuclear rector of the CANDU 6 design known as the Canadian Deuterium Uranium reactor. It is a high-pressure, safe-shutdown, heavy water moderated and cooled reactor with a single tank pressure adjustable head-end drive feed system for improved process control and simplified mixed-fuel operation. The reactor core includes a graphite moderator, double shelled calandria vessel and two independent safety systems. The graphite moderator is designed to create a moderating effect on the neutron flow, while the double-shelled calandria vessel helps accelerate the neutrons towards the fuel cores. The two independent safety systems are designed to ensure the safe shutdown of the reactor in the event of an emergency. ADVANCED Asset TECHNOLOGY CEDE-200 possesses several design features that increase safety during operation. It has a dual-SRI refueling model that is designed to be extremely reliable and leak-tight. The reactor building also includes an automatic safety control equipment (SCS) and a mechanical control system (MCS) that are designed to detect power fluctuations and automatically shut down the reactor if necessary. The electronic control unit of CEDE-200 includes a high-level safety computer that monitors the parameters of the reactor core and the reactor building's environment. The machine also monitors the control tool sensors and reports any errors in real-time to the control room.
