GENUS 6010 is a nuclear reactor developed to provide reliable and safe atomic power in a variety of applications. It is designed as an open-circuit boiling-water reactor (BWR) and has many advantages compared to other types of nuclear power plants. 6010 reactor core is composed of zirconium alloy fuel rods, encased in a stainless steel pressure vessel. These rods are packed tightly to form a circular core and lower its reactivity, reducing the risk of a runaway nuclear reaction. The core is surrounded by a primary cooling equipment, which is a combination of two types of pumped circulation-water. The first is an external water pool located around the pressure vessel, while the second is an internal recirculating system that keeps the used fuel rods cool as they are replaced with fresh fuel assemblies. The core is pressurized up to 1,450 psi and is further cooled to 745°F to allow for more efficient boiling and generate steam. GENUS 6010 contains two control rods which can be raised and lowered according to the reactor's activity. The assembly of control rods is electromechanically driven and are kept inside the core, reacting with the uranium-235 in order to achieve the desired output. The turbine connected to the reactor generates power by accessing the steam from the primary cooling loop. 6010 reactor is designed with the utmost safety mechanisms in mind. Its layered defense unit prevents the nuclear chain reaction from reaching dangerous levels by introducing two fail-safe solutions: the ECCS (Emergency Core Cooling Machine) and the SCRAM (Safety Control Rod Assembly Mechanism). The first is triggered in case of emergency, allowing the evacuation of cooling water from the reactor while the second is used to stop the reaction in the event of a malfunction. GENUS 6010 reactor is one of the few power plants that meets all safety requirements and is one of the most reliable methods of generating clean, renewable energy. It is cost-effective, simple to maintain, less vulnerable to external factors and has been proven to be highly efficient in its production.
