GES CAYMAN is a type of nuclear reactor which is used to convert Uranium-235 into electricity through the process of nuclear fission. It is a boiling water reactor, a type of pressurized water reactor, with a pressure vessel containing a large volume of water maintained at high pressure and temperature. The structure of the reactor consists of three main components: the core, the pressure vessel, and the steam generator. The core of CAYMAN consists of a number of vertical fuel assemblies. Each assembly consists of hundreds of small uranium dioxide fuel pellets, stacked to form a lattice-like core where fission of uranium atoms takes place. Control rods are inserted around the outer circumference of the core to regulate the fission rate. The core is surrounded by a pressure vessel made of steel, allowing the injection of coolant into the reactor core, to cool it and moderate the neutrons. The coolant is pumped from a large pool of pressurized water that is maintained at a given pressure and temperature. This pool of water is known as the pressurizer and receives the heat generated in the core. The coolant is injected into the reactor core using pumps and enters the core through the steam generator, a pipe system which transfers the heated coolant from the core to the steam generator. In the steam generator, the heated coolant passes through steam generating tubes and heats the water circulating inside them, generating steam in the process. The steam from the steam generator is then used to power a turbine, which then produces electricity. Once the steam has been used to power the turbine, it is condensed back to liquid form by a condenser and pumped back to the steam generator, to be used once again. Finally, the coolant is pumped back to the pressurizer where it is cooled down and recycled back to the core to be used again. This process is repeated continuously and provides electricity on a continuous basis. GES CAYMAN is an efficient and reliable way to generate electricity from nuclear fuel and is the most commonly used type of nuclear reactor for power production. It is safe and cost effective, and provides a continuous and reliable supply of electricity for many applications. Its presence in the world's energy supply is continually growing, making nuclear power an important energy resource.
