JEL / JUSUNG Cyclone Plus is a vertical tubular two-stage JEL Cyclone Plus air-cooled reactor, designed for use in chemical production. The reactor is constructed from stainless steel, and is designed to provide both high thermal efficiency and durability. The reactor has two-stages, an upstream vertical section that consists of an open vessel, and a downstream section which includes a cylindrical reflux condenser. The open vessel of the upstream section contains a vertically-oriented cyclone that is designed to provide high temperature and pressure stability, while the cylindrical condenser is designed to collect vapor from the outlet of the reactor. The two stages are connected by a narrow cylindrical flange that is sealed to the upper end of the upstream section. Within the upstream section, a high-pressure, high-velocity flame of a non-combustible combustible gas is used to create a mixture of hot vapors and cooled gases. The resulting mixture is then forced through the cylindrical flange, and into the condenser, where it is cooled. At the upstream vessel outlet, a stainless steel baffle is installed to prevent any unintentional liquids or gases from entering the condenser. Additionally, a pressure gauge is installed on the first-stage to measure the reaction pressure. In order to maintain a high circulation rate in the reactor, a pressurizing system is installed, which is configured to achieve the right balance between pressure and flow. The pressurizational system consists of a pressurization valve and a pressurization pump. The pressurization valve is designed to ensure that the pressure remains within a predefined pressure range, while the pump is designed to increase the circulation rate by pumping additional fluid into the reactor. Finally, the reactor is also equipped with a thermostat for monitoring temperature, as well as a thermocouple for recording data. Together, these components provide an independent and accurate measure of the reactor's operating temperature.
