VEECO / EMCORE E300 GaN Solid State Reactor is an advanced version of the MOSFET-based reactors previously manufactured by the company. The reactor is a high power, highly efficient, cost-effective, and reliable solid state switching device which can provide high power processing solutions for a variety of applications. The reactor is a semiconductor device containing an insulated gate controlled GaN (Gallium Nitride) transistor. This transistor can switch on/off rapidly in response to switching currents and produces a proportional voltage on its source. This allows for direct measured control of the combination of current and voltage on the output of the reactor. VEECO E300 GaN reactor's switching characteristics make it an ideal candidate for high power applications such as radio frequency (RF) power amplifiers, private wireless LAN (WLAN), and broadband amplifiers. It is highly suitable for use in aircraft and other military vehicles due to its high reliability and small size. The blocking voltage of EMCORE E300 (GAN) is higher than that of its predecessors, while its maximum on-state voltage is nearly unaffected. This higher blocking voltage allows for lower distortion and higher system efficiency. Moreover, the addition of a new monolithic gate driver reduces the turn-on and turn-off times of VEECO E300 (GAN) to 100 ns and 60 ns, respectively. This enables its use in a wider range of applications and improves system reliability. EMCORE E300 GaN reactor has a wide operating temperature range of -54 to +125°C, allowing it to be utilized in applications exposed to extreme temperatures. It is also designed to operate with a wide range of voltages ranging from 6-25 V. Overall, E300 GaN is an excellent choice for applications involving high-power, high-reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
