It can process up to 30 different advanced materials with heated graphite susceptors, a high-precision 4-axis motion machine and full infrared heating coils. The reactor is equipped with an advanced control tool, which adjusts the process parameters to ensure the best material quality. This is accomplished by automatically controlling the susceptor temperature, graphite gas flow rate and total pressure with high accuracy and repeatability. Additionally, a gas injection asset is available for homogeneous gas flow conditions required for optimal etching process performance. EMCORE K465i also features a Graphite Friction Model (GFS) which is designed to control and limit the graphite-on-graphite wear. This ensures long product life and repeatable production of advanced materials.
