Microscope, 6".
CAMBRIDGE Auto Camm is an electron scanning microscope that enables detailed analysis and imaging of samples on a nanoscopic scale. By harnessing the power of electron microscopy, the instrument can magnify objects up to 200,000 times their normal size. Beyond simply imaging the sample, the microscope allows for a variety of analytical techniques to be performed. Auto Camm is capable of using a wide variety of imaging modes and techniques. Including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), which is used for imaging samples in high resolution; secondary electron microscopy (SEM) which ions from the specimen interact with electrodes to produce imaging; transmission electron microscopy (TEM) which uses electrons to illuminate a sample; and scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) which combines SEM and TEM applications. All of these techniques are made possible with CAMBRIDGE Auto Camm's field emission gun (FEG) source, which enables the fine control of the electron beam and production of high quality images. Further, Auto Camm is capable of energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), which produces a chemical analysis of the sample; electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS), which detects light elements; and other forms of EM microscopy. All of these tools and techniques enable scientists to observe and analyze samples on a nanoscopic level of detail. This detail is unobtainable with traditional optical microscopes, and provides ample ground for advanced material science, nanofabrication, and biological research. Likewise, CAMBRIDGE Auto Camm's advanced sample preparation capabilities make observed samples highly compatible with a range of advanced characterization techniques. This enables the examination of samples in a range of conditions, including high vacuum, cryogenic, and low vacuum. In addition to being preeminently useful in scientific research, Auto Camm is also suitable for an array of industrial uses. This includes inspection, failure analysis, reverse engineering, advanced coatings and alloys, inspection for process control, metal fatigue testing, cross-sectional analysis and contamination analysis. The combination of techniques enabled by CAMBRIDGE Auto Camm is what makes it so widely applicable across a variety of disciplines. Given its capabilities and flexibility in the laboratory, Auto Camm is a tremendously useful and innovative tool. The instrument's enhanced imaging and characterization capabilities, in addition to its robust structure and open design, enable unprecedented levels of detail and analysis that promise to open up exciting new worlds of exploration and understanding.
