HITACHI RS7000-30 is a scanning electron microscope (SEM), a type of electron microscope that produces images of a sample by scanning it with a focused beam of electrons. Its imaging capabilities are enhanced by its wide range of in-lens and out-lens detectors that allow for extraordinary visualisation. The main components of RS7000-30 include its electron gun, which produces a focused beam of electrons, the columns, consisting of electromagnetic lenses and its actuators, as well as its imaging detectors, consisting of visual, x-ray and chemical detectors. One of the most notable features of HITACHI RS7000-30 is its imaging field of view, which is a large 57 (H) x 51 (V) mm2, allowing for imaging of vast areas of the sample in one single take. Its high resolution capability is enabled by its top Planarity, Cs and condenser lenses. The resolution of the imaging system can be adjusted from 1 nm to 20 nm, depending on the type of detector used, allowing for very large depths of field and a wide range of magnifications from extreme magnifications (zoom levels of 20,000) to low magnifications (zoom levels of 500). RS7000-30 is also equipped with a wide range of accessories which enable it to achieve various analytical modes and results, such as energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), electron backscattered diffraction (EBSD), X-ray tomography and secondary electron (SE) imaging. These additional functions increase its compatibility with a variety of samples and analysis purposes, enabling it to be highly versatile. HITACHI RS7000-30 is also equipped with several safety features, such as vibration-free operation, ensuring samples are not compromised while imaging. In addition, it is fitted with automated functions, including a built-in EM auto-drive mode, which allows the user to program their imaging settings, such as target magnification and dwell time, resulting in highly consistent imaging. With more than 10,000 installations worldwide, RS7000-30 has become the preferred SEM for universities and research institutions. It provides an exceptional imaging system for many varied sample types and research purposes, and continues to remain a dominant force in the world of analytical imaging.
