JEOL JEM 1400 is an advanced scanning electron microscope (SEM) designed for high-resolution imaging and analysis of both biological and non-biological samples. JEM 1400 is equipped with a high-performance electron column, providing a high-energy resolution imaging and analysis system with a wide field of view. JEOL JEM 1400 is optimized for quick imaging using its high-resolution, side-mounted, magnetic e-beam column, providing a maximum resoultion of 0.8 nm and a field of view of up to 4 mm. This allows for fast, simultaneous imaging and analysis of multiple areas of interest on a sample. In addition, JEM 1400 uses cold cathode field emission gun to provide a higher aberration-corrected electron column, providing greatly improved beam stability and brightness for a further higher resolution imaging and analysis. JEOL JEM 1400 has a scanning electron source that can produce imaging up to 2 megapixels with a broad range of magnification, from 4x to 50,000x. Its maximum energy range is 10-30kV and its current is adjustable from 50-100 pA. This makes it suitable for a variety of applications, from cellular analysis to imaging of surfaces and voids. JEM 1400 is equipped with a variable pressure (VP) chamber, which enables imaging and analysis under low (10-6-10-4 Pa) and ultra-low (10-7-10-5 Pa) vacuum conditions. This makes it particularly suitable for imaging sensitive samples that require an environment close to their natural state. To facilitate imaging and analysis on a wide range of samples, JEOL JEM 1400 can be outfitted with a range of sample holders, such as cryo-holders, air locks, surface probes, and vacuum chambers. Its powerful energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) detector and adjustable-size electron beam allow for elemental analysis with a higher accuracy and sensitivity.
