PHILIPS EM430 is a scanning electron microscope (SEM) designed for use in both academic and industrial settings. The unit is a compact, stand-alone equipment which combines the robustness of a vacuum scanning electron microscope, with the convenience of a table-top SEM. It is particularly well suited for electron microscopy applications such as survey imaging, automated particle analysis and X-ray mapping. EM430 utilizes a vacuum chamber and column system for imaging, featuring a cold field emission cathode that offers excellent resolution. Its high voltage of up to 30 kV and accelerating voltage range of 5-30 kV, make the instrument perfectly adapted to the demands of high resolution imaging. Additionally, PHILIPS EM430 can be used with a wide variety of sample holders, including Schottky non-contacting and Schottky or 'in-vacuum' flat sample holders, enabling more sophisticated fine-structure topographic imaging. A robust sample cooling unit is incorporated into the design, capable of reducing sample heating to just 50°C. This helps to maintain sample integrity during the imaging process, and also allows for imaging of delicate specimens with limited thermal tolerances. EM430 is also highly versatile, offering both variable magnification and automated navigation for efficient imaging. In summary, PHILIPS EM430 is a reliable, high-performance SEM ideal for both industrial and academic research. Its advanced imaging technology, sophisticated sample cooling machine and diverse sample holder options make it the perfect tool for a variety of electron microscopy applications.
