PHILIPS / FEI Quanta 450 is a scanning electron microscope (SEM) that is used to generate high-resolution imagery of a variety of objects such as polymers structures, circuits, and other structures and surfaces. FEI Quanta 450 has a field emission gun as an electron source, providing a focused electron beam with an extremely small size of 0.8 nm. This electron beam enables PHILIPS Quanta 450 to achieve extremely high resolutions on the order of 1nm in linear resolution and 0.2nm in lateral resolution. Quanta 450 has a working distance of up to 7 mm, and has the ability to fully focus up to the 1 nm level. This feature allows the user to create more detailed images and to spot defects more easily. In addition, PHILIPS / FEI Quanta 450 has a multi-segmented dead-time detector which enables the user to measure a spectrum of features down to 1 nm. FEI Quanta 450 offers advanced image stitching, enabling the user to combine multiple images quickly, efficiently and with high accuracy. This significantly reduces the time and effort that would otherwise be spent on manually stitching the images. The combined image is also of higher quality and resolution due to the accuracy inherent in the stitching process. PHILIPS Quanta 450 also provides an innovative and user-friendly interface. With a graphical user interface, image manipulation and image analysis can be done with ease. The user can also set exposure times either manually or automatically, and can also modify or enhance images even from a non-magnified state. Quanta 450 is among the most powerful scanning electron microscopes currently available. The electron emission gun, excellent resolution, working distance, detector, powerful stitching algorithm, intuitive user interface, and exposure time setting capabilities make PHILIPS / FEI Quanta 450 an invaluable tool for imaging and analysis.
