PHILIPS / FEI Tecnai TF20 is a multi-purpose scanning electron microscope (SEM) designed to capture detailed images of microscopic structures. The microscope utilizes a particle beam emitted by a Schottky Field Emission gun to measure, analyze, and visualize specimens ranging from isolated particles to large structures. FEI Tecnai TF20 features a tungsten filament to produce a medium-energy 30 keV electron beam with a 200-300 um spot size. The gun can also generate low-energy beams that range from 1-30 keV and beam diameters ranging from 1-10mm. Additionally, the microscope features a digital imaging system with a 16-bit color CCD detector optimized for capturing fast images at high magnifications. PHILIPS TECNAI TF-20 utilizes aberration-corrected optics for collecting signals from the sample under investigation. It is equipped with a monochromator for producing color-filtered images and a dedicated stage to perform both global and local specimen analysis. Specimens can be studied from a wide range of specimen environment types including air, gas, and liquid-based environments. PHILIPS Tecnai TF20 also features an in-lens detector system that can measure electrons scattered over an aperture. This enables users to obtain SE images from a few nanometer size range and to measure the absorption and scattering of the electron beam over very short ranges. In addition, the microscope uses a magnetic lenses system to measure the sample's magnetic properties, enabling users to study the distribution and concentration of magnetic domains. FEI TECNAI TF-20 is versatile and provides high versatility for a wide range of applications. The microscope is well-suited for imaging non-conducting samples, as well as those with a wide range of conductivity properties. Additionally, the microscope is highly suitable for imaging biological specimens, preparing samples for energy dispersive X-ray analysis, and performing tomography and nano-CT imaging. TECNAI TF-20 is lauded for enabling high-resolution images as well as measuring the size, shape, electrical properties, and composition of a sample. Its state-of-the-art SEM technology, combined with its advanced imaging and analysis capabilities, make it an ideal instrument for a wide range of research, engineering, and medical applications.
