Additionally, the instrument is equipped with an optional low-vacuum imaging chamber for collecting samples or for imaging in low-vacuum operations. EM 109 is further equipped with a balanced beam tool to reduce imaging distortions from sample charging, as well as an optional low-vacuum chamber and semi-automated tilt stages for scanning samples in both reflective and shadow mode. It is also capable of generating 3D tomograms, or slices of the sample, to provide users with more detailed visualization of their sample. Additionally, the microscopy comes with a variety of accessories, such as scintillators and optical systems, to customize the image quality and performance.
