DISCO DFD 6360 is a scribing and dicing system used by advanced industrial appications for high precision and high-speed cutting of silicon and other brittle materials. It operates on the principle of pulsed air jets with a precisely controlled pulse frequency of 60Hz. The primary components of the system are the controller, the nozzle head, and the vacuum passage. The controller sends a pulse signal to the nozzle head which activates one or more microscopic, oil-free air jets that are precisely focused and directed to a target point. The pulse frequency is adjustable to achieve the best results for any given material and cuts at a rate of up to 300 carats per minute. The vacuum passage removes the debris generated by the cutting process, and is designed to optimize the suction power, air flow, and canister capacity to ensure that material debris are efficiently removed from the cutting area. The nozzle head is highly adjustable to facilitate precise targeting and cutting action. DISCO DFD6360 uses a variety of cutting tools, including diamond scribes and carbide dicing blades. A gas or diamond paste, such as Diamonite, is used to lubricate and cool the cutting process, allowing for cuts with smooth, clean edges. DFD 6360 is extremely precise, capable of cutting down to 1 micron resolution. It is also fast and efficient, able to scribe or dice up to 300 carats per minute. It is an ideal solution for industrial applications that require high precision, high speed cutting of brittle materials, including silicon, sapphire, germanium and gallium arsenide.
