DISCO DFL 7160 is a high-performance scribing / dicing equipment designed for the cutting of hard and brittle materials such as ceramics, glass, aluminum, and metal alloys. The system is capable of processing large quantities of materials quickly and efficiently. The unit uses diamond tools to scribe or diced product materials. The scribing process utilises a rotating diamond stylus that repeatedly passes over the surface of the material, creating a series of closely-spaced lines or cuts. The straight-edged dicing process cuts material into an array of regular sizes and shapes. Both processes require separate, fine adjustment of the diamond tip position to ensure a clean and consistent cut. The scribing and dicing movements are both controlled via precision servomotors with an integrated automatic retraction machine to provide added safety and material protection. The scribing speed is adjustable between 0.5mm - 10mm/s, with a motor speed range of 0 - 25,000RPM. Adjustable sensor systems are also included to monitor each cutting process. Additionally, the tool is also equipped with a robust dust extraction asset to ensure a clean processing environment. The dust/particles created during the scribing and dicing processes are collected and stored in a 20-liter tank, with an additional 20-liter buffer tank available as an option.
