BACCINI / AMAT / APPLIED MATERIALS 40MW Solar Cell Line is a full-wafer, high automation high-efficiency monocrystalline (HEM) solar cell production equipment line. The line consists of several integrated processes, including Photolithograpy, Texturing, Bias, Edge Isolation, Firing, and Aligning and Tabbing. It is built with state-of-the-art robotic cell layout and diamond pattern deposition, to achieve high efficiency cells with the lowest possible complexity. The Photolithography on this line involves utilizing an advanced precision photoresist deposition equipment coupled with a highly precise imaging system to accurately pattern the silicon wafer. To minimize loss in efficiency, Texturing uses a conical texturing process to form a conical shading layer that helps to reduce shadowing loss. The Bias process enables electrical current to flow and generates the desired amount of energy required from the solar cell. Edge Isolation helps protect the modules against electric shock. Firing consolidates texturing, bias, and edge isolation layers together to form the required monocrystalline structure. The Aligning and Tabbing process allows for accurate connection between the solar cell and the module. This AMAT 40MW Solar Cell Line also features a highly accurate radial aligner unit, which reduces optical shadowing loss due to misalignment and minimizes module manufacturing cost. It also comprises of laser trimming technology to facilitate higher cell density, thus enabling quicker production cycles and higher throughput. In addition, this line also contains several monitoring systems, such as number of cell defects detection, cell capacity, and current-voltage data plot. This helps to ensure the desired solar cell output in the shortest possible time.
