Sputtering system.
DENTON VACUUM DESK II is a powerful sputtering equipment that is designed to meet the needs of high-throughput thin film deposition through the use of reactive sputtering. The system focuses on efficient sample production and ensures substrate temperatures remain relatively consistent, enabling consistent film deposition results. The unit consists of an eight-inch aluminum-coated steel vacuum chamber and four independently operated pair of coaxially magnetically shielded, directional electron beam guns. The guns lift the electrons to the operating area of the chamber with high-energy efficiency, and generate a high-density plasma with a high-reflection flat vacuum wall and curved shield. This creates a controlled environment within the vacuum chamber, allowing the electron beam guns to deliver uniform and consistent sputter rates. The variable frequency of the guns also enables them to reach a wide range of temperatures, allowing for maximum flexibility in the sputter process. The machine also features a number of advanced monitoring systems to ensure consistent performance. An advanced programmable logic controller is used for temperature monitoring, and a quartz crystal frequency monitor keeps track of gun frequency. There is also a secondary vacuum monitor, which helps to ensure the proper level of vacuum within the chamber is maintained. The tool also works to reduce waste through the use of a patented helium recovery asset, allowing the model to recover helium at the end of each sputter cycle creating significant time and cost savings. Finally, DESK II features a number of safety features, including timers and alarms. This helps to ensure that the equipment does not overheat or run for too long. The advanced magnetic shielding also helps to protect the operator from any harmful radiation.
