LAPMASTER AC 1500-P is a high-end micro-processing equipment, designed for ultra-precise material grinding, lapping and polishing. The system offers ideal conditions for automated as well as manual machining applications, on wafer substrates with diameters of up to 200 mm. The machine is driven by a three-phase AC-motor and is equipped with process regulation electronics, as well as digital controllers for tool vibration and unit temperature. The motor is capable of reaching a maximum rotational speed of up to 300 rotations per minute, which allows dynamic and precise processes on different high-end workpieces. The unique swivel and tilt spindle of the AC 1500-P enables quick and precise positioning of the wafer on a micron-level. The high-quality drive machine permits smooth and vibration-free movements in five axes. Furthermore, the tool offers a high degree of process security due to advanced operating functions such as „semi-automatic material handling" for loading and unloading work and valuable safety aspects. Due to a precise gap compensation asset and a wide range of digital sensors, even trace amounts of material can be automatically adjusted and compensated. To further improve the process, the machine is outfitted with parametrization, diagnostics functions and multiple process holders. Using these quickly exchangeable process holders with material-specific geometries allows for a rapid adaptation to each substrate surface and a high grade of flexibility. An advanced control software manages all machine parts and therefore creates a seamless workflow on the highest level of precision. Consequently, the AC 1500-P guarantees an extremely low defect rate with highest production accuracy. It is a high-performance model with excellent precision characteristics and a reliable usable lifetime.
