GCA / ISI ALS 200 is a wafer stepper which is used in the production of integrated circuits (ICs). It is a stepper type machine that works with a throughput of up to 200 wafers per hour. This equipment uses step and repeat technology to produce effectively in a short amount of time. GCA ALS 200 feeds the wafer through two stages of illumination. In the first stage, the wafer is illuminated with a light source which produces a pattern of dots that represents the layer that is to be transferred onto the wafer. The second stage is the projection which is used to expose the wafer. During this stage, the wafer is moved with a high-speed X-Y stage and the generated pattern is transferred onto the wafer without blurring. The successful exposure results in the generation of electrical pathways onto the wafer. ISI ALS 200 is highly accurate and precise in positioning; it can accurately and precisely place the marks across the entire surface of the wafer with a precision of 1 micron in the X and Y directions. It also has the option of two control modes for stage position control of the wafer. These are: the micro-processor closed loop position control mode, and the computer vision open loop control mode. ALS 200 also offers adjustable exposure settings that can be manipulated based on external requirements. The frequency option allows for further adjustment for the UV and low light level applications. It also provides exposure monitoring, wafer alignment, data storage and can be integrated with other systems, such as film trackers and automation. Finally, GCA / ISI ALS 200 allows for complete customization when it comes to purchasing and initial installation. This includes custom masks, film cassettes, and vacuum loaders which are all available optionally, as well as the capability to manually upload and control the system remotely.
